Polens premiärminister Donald Tusk har vunnit förtroendeomröstningen i landets parlament, en omröstning som kommer efter att landet skakats av en avlyssningsskandal. För regeringen pinsamma inspelade samtal med bland annat riksbankschefen och utrikesministern, som publicerats av nyhetsmagasinet Wprost, har väckt ramaskri i Polen men Tusk lyckades ändå segra i parlamentet.

En man i 40-årsåldern döms till nio månaders fängelse för att han utsatt sin nu 15-åriga styvdotter för grov fridskränkning. Flickan blev slagen, sparkad och knuffad av styvpappan, som också ville ha kontroll över vilka vänner hon träffade.

This may not creep everyone out, but for those who don't like the idea of Google's all-seeing eye owning their smart-home devices, there are some small, independent companies developing alternatives. Maybe they'll survive long enough to get acquired by a company that doesn't make 90 percent of its money from advertising — right?
